Coconut is one of the world”s most nourishing superfoods. This creamy taste of the tropics is great for sautéing and baking, enhancing your favorite recipes, and body care. It can also be used for oil pulling, with or without the addition of essential oils or herbs. If adding essential oils, start with one or two drops of absolutely pure, full strength essential oil to each ounce of carrier (coconut, sesame, sunflower, or olive oil.) Depending on oral health conditions, consider cinnamon, clove, peppermint, or wild oregano oil.
This coconut oil has the aroma of coconut whereas the Omega Nutrition brand does not have much aroma at all. Both can also be used for cooking and/or oil pulling, but this one has a distinctive aroma and flavor because it is made from fresh coconuts and is not refined. Because of this, when used for cooking, temperatures should not exceed 350°F (177°C).
