Dashmula is a mixture of eight Ayurvedic herbs that can be prepared as a tea. It is one of the formulas recommended for people suffering from vata derangements. Since the symptoms of vata dosha are similar to those of many of the toxicities associated with metals as well as expose to x-rays, this blend is offered for people who want to support their lungs and nervous system while detoxifying. The tea is not delicious but unless made too strong, it is palatable, not addictive! However, what it lacks in taste, it makes up in its relatively gentle action.
Please be sure to strain the tea carefully since the gokshura, puncture vine, can be sharp!
Bilva root (Aegle marmelos), Agnimantha root (Premna integrifolia), Shyonaka root (Oroxylum indicum), Patala root (Stereospermym suaveolens), Kashmari root (Gmelina arborea), Bruhati root (Solanum indicum), Kantakari root (Solanum xanthocarpum), Shalaparni root (Desmodium gangeticum), Prushniparni root (Uraria picta), Gokshura root (Tribulus terrestris).
