Dr. Tung’s tongue cleaner is made of high grade stainless steel that is resistant to bacteria. Tongues are typically about four inches long from front to back. The handles on this particular model make it easy to control the scraper when placing towards the back of the tongue. The scraper should be used after eating to remove food particles that might remain on the tongue and contribute towards bad breath. The mouth should be rinsed with warm water after using the scraper. This can be followed by use of a good mouthwash. The scraper itself can be sterilized by placing in boiling water or a solution of colloidal silver or water with essential oils such as cinnamon, clove, thyme, or wild oregano. Just use a small glass bottle and fill it with enough water to cover the stainless steel part of the scraper. Then add about 8-10 drops of essential oil to the water.
